Founder, Co-Director and Senior Research Fellow
Matthew Loveless received his Ph.D. in Political Science from Indiana University (Bloomington, 2005). He has been a Scholar in Residence at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars (Washington, D.C.); a Visiting Assistant Professor at Georgetown University (USA), a Nuffield Fellow and Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Oxford (UK); an Assistant Professor at the University of Mississippi (USA) and an Associate Professor at the University of Kent (UK). He is a research fellow of the Rimini Centre for Economic Analysis. His early research and publications focused primarily on the transition to democracy in Eastern Europe and now includes contributions to the study inequality and its effects on political behavior in Europe. His work has been published in the Journal of Politics, the International Journal of Communication, World Development, Comparative Politics, and the European Journal of Political Research. At the Center, he is responsible for organizing the peer-review process within Political Science, organizing the research agenda, and the daily management of the center.
As of September 2019, he has been an Associate Professor at the Department of Political and Social Sciences at he University of Bologna in Itlay
