Laura Anselmi obtained her Ph.D. in Health Economics from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London in 2015. She is working as a Research Associate at the Centre for Health Economics at the University of Manchester. Her research is currently focused on the analysis of health systems organization and health care provision in UK as well as in low- income countries. She is currently involved in projects related to the extension of health care in the UK and on the evaluation of health care financing reform in Tanzania and on the equity and efficiency of the allocation of public health resources in Mozambique. She has previously worked at the Directorate of Planning and International Cooperation of the Ministry of Health of Mozambique for over five years, as a fellow of the Overseas Development Institute (ODI) first, and then as a technical assistant for the World Health Organization (WHO) and for the UK Department for International Development. Her initial training and research focused development economics. She holds an M.Phil in Economics from the University of Oxford and a B.Sc. in Economics from Bocconi University.
